What is our Mission?
Our mission is to entertain, inspire and equip kids with critical life skills through sports media.
Kids today face huge challenges. The rates of obesity, cyber bullying, and substance abuse are rising to alarming levels. Over the past 3 decades, child obesity rates have tripled in the U.S., and 1 in 3 American kids are now overweight or obese. At the current rate, 1 in 3 children born in 2000 or later will suffer from diabetes during their lifetimes.
The average kid in the U.S. spends almost 8 hours each day on screens. Unfortunately, when they turn to today's sports media, designed for adults, they frequently see both a pervasive focus on the scandals surrounding their pro athlete heroes and inappropriate advertising (male enhancement drugs, alcohol, violent movie trailers, etc.).
Most importantly, current sports media does not effectively engage this new generation of digital kids. They have much shorter attention spans and want to interact, customize and share their media.
Sports are a natural and fun way to learn critical life skills in three areas:
- smart fitness & nutrition
- math & science
- self confidence, sportsmanship, teamwork
